Reusable water bottles are much better for the enviorment and cost less.Look at the amazing amount of water bottles that have been used in one year.Alone in 2006 the U.S used 31 billion plastic water bottles. If everybody used reusable water bottle ,imagine what the landfills would look like,or even the streets?Using plastic is not an efficient way to make water bottles because of the amount that are used. It is a way to make money. With a plastic nonreusable water bottle here is what you are paying for .the plastic which from figi costs 22 cents to manfacture in the store it costs $1.65.what you are realy paying for is the label that the manufactures try to build up to make theur water better that it really is.What is the cost of a reusable water bottle if you think about it after you get yours money worth it is free.plus after that you can fill it up with what ever you want.a nonreusable botle can only be filled up so many times then you have to go buy a nother one.some companies even have a warenty like nalgine.if you break it they replace it and give you a free t-shirt no questions asked. All you have to do is send in the broken peices and they mail you a replacement free of charge.
Have you heard of people say how bad plastic water bottles are?You may think that cant be that bad, but think about this.1.5 million tons of plastic water water bottles are not recycled and put in landfills.then think of the emormouse expence.sure a case of water mighr only cost about $4.50,but about 30 billion water bottles were bought in just the U.S.think of this.a 20 oz bottle of water costs about 5 cents per ounce.all the manufacteres have to do is make the bottles and fill them with water. Now do the math on a gallon of gasoline 128 OZ for $3 that comes out to 2.5 cents per oz.now think how much more work it takes to get oil out of the ground.First you have to drill to get the crude oil.then you have to ship it to a refinery to refine it.next you have to ship it to its final destination.which might even be a plastic manufacture.now to make a water bottle the plastic manufacture has to make large sheets of plastic that are then shipped to the bottle manufactuer.there they are hut to a certain demention depending on the size of the bottle.they are then stackted and fused in to hollow cilinderical shape. then they go to the molding fase where they put the cilinderical mold into the final mold to give it the final shape.they do this by heating the plastic cilinder and sending an air cueernt through it to force it into all of the coroners and tight against the mold.this also thins it significantly to its final thichness.sure irt may seem like a lot to do for one bottle ,but there are 31 billion bottles sold each year.NOW how bo yoe feal about buying nonreusable water bottles?
Plastic Production
The first step in making a water bottle is to make the plastic. It is formulated from petroleum, or corn and various chemicals. Once manufactured, it is shipped in sheets to the water bottle plant. There, it is cut into lengths of material suitable for making water bottles by a cutting device. The sheets are stacked and fused into round, hollow plastic sheets and ready to proceed to the molding device.
Molding
The hollow plastic sheets are fed into a molding device. This device will take the sheets and blow-mold them into the shape of the bottle. The device sets the sheet into the mold, heats the plastic and injects an air current into the plastic. This air current expands the plastic until it forms against the inside of the mold. The machine then reduces the heat, but continues to blow air into the mold. As the plastic cools, it takes the shape of the mold.
Bottle Neck
The bottle neck of the water bottle is much thicker than the bottle itself. However, it is part of the plastic and not a separate attachment. It is formed by heating the plastic sheet and condensing it into this smaller area, thereby forming the thicker bottle neck and head. The plastic sheets are cut to a size and shape that allows the final shape of the bottle to be obtained with minimum waste, so the right thickness in the plastic is always achieved.
